Water Cleaning & Lining Project Information:
The City of East Providence Department of Public Works announces the commencement of a water main improvement project to upgrade aging water mains in the City. This work will rehabilitate aging water system pipelines some of which are over 100 years old to improve water quality and system operations for the City residents and businesses.
The contractor is completing permanent pavement repairs in the area of City Hall/Phase II.
March 2012 update:
Cleaning & Lining in the Phase II Area is now complete. Permanent paving will take this spring for the Phase II area. Walsh is preparing to start work on Phase III. Work in the Orchard Street area will begin on March 26th. To view the Phase III area a map of this area click here. Walsh will be starting on Orchard Street first. Those areas will receive notices regarding the commencement of work.
Residents should be aware that this piping is above ground and care should be taken in this area. Employees from W. Walsh Company Inc. will need to make appointments with you in order to gain entry and connect your house to the by-pass. This allows your house to receive water from the by-pass pipe. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
