Hurricane Harvey Support Effort

First, our thoughts and prayers are with all those who have been impacted by last week's Hurricane Harvey.  The City of East Providence is asking our community to stand by those in the greater Houston area who have lost so much by helping to meet the needs of their community.  Texas officials have stressed the need for the following items:

  • Disposable Diapers
  • Baby Formula
  • New Cleaning Supplies
  • New Toiletries
  • Non-Perishable Food
  • New Clothing and Blankets

For those interested in donating items, we are accepting these donations at the East Providence City Hall front desk with our receptionist, Alex.  We ask that all donations be dropped off by Friday, September 8th at 3:00 pm.  We have collaborated with the City of Providence for transport of supplies over the coming weeks.

For those who would like to support the recovery process monetarily, please consider donating to one of the following:

  • Greater Houston Community Foundations Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund
  • United Way Harvey Recovery Fund
  • Text 'Harvey' to 90999 to make an immediate $10 contribution to the American Red Cross
  • Send check or money order to Greater Houston Community Foundation, 5120 Woodway Drive, Suite 6000, Houston, TX 77056

Thank you all who consider donating, East Providence is proud to stand with Texas during this difficult recovery process.
